* According to the Guinness Book of Chart Hits "Do You Want To Know A Secret" only made no.2. There were no less than four main "charts" in use at that time and for publicity the highest was usually quoted. However it's generally accepted that "Secret" sold enough to be regarded as having made the top spot. The Beatle's own "Please Please Me" is quoted in the same book as no.2. The chart that Guinness use for compiling their book (Melody Maker I believe) was generally as accurate as any although the other three charts made THAT single a No.1 at the time. (BOLD numbers are UK chart positions.)
