You Can Have Her

Cook, 1992.  Recorded: 25-05-61

Johnny Kidd (vocals) - Alan Caddy (lead) - Brian Gregg (bass) - Clem Catinni (drums)

Part of a session that yielded three unreleased songs (the others were "Bad Case Of Love" and version one of "Please Don't Bring Me Down"). All three sound unfinished and originally escaped from the vaults via the "Complete" CD back in 1992.

You can have her, I don't want her
     She didn't love me anyway
She only wanted someone to play with
But all I wanted was a love to stay

If you get the, the wrong woman
There's only one thing you can do
Dig a big hole and jump right in it
And pull the ground right over you

Well, you can have her, I-I don't want her
     She didn't love me a-anyway-hay-hay
She only wanted someone to play with
But all I wanted was a love to stay-hey-hey

That girl I loved she upped and left me
She ran away with my best friend
Comes home at night just for an hour
When daylight comes she's gone away

Well, you can have her, I-I don't want her
     She didn't love me a-anyway-hay-hay
She only wanted someone to play with
But all I wanted was a love to stay-hey-hey

I feel love is mighty empty
But your confessions could hold a soul
I'd rather have love that I could cling to
Then have the world left all of it's gold

You can have her, I don't want her
     She didn't love me anyway
She only wanted someone to play with
But all I wanted was a love to stay

You can have her, I don't want her
Oooh, she didn't love me anyway
She only wanted someone to play with
But all I wanted was a love to stay

You can have her, I don't want her
     She didn't love me anyway-hey-hey
She only wanted someone to play with
But all I wanted was a love to stay

You can have her, I don't want her
     She didn't love me anyway-hey-hey
     (etc to fadeout)
