Tim Lamb is leader of the
"Lamb Clan" who supplied no less than seven different players during the 1998 season. A
strong stylish opening bat, Tim regularly scores well (both
on and off the field-Ed) which helped him run away with
the Hull Award for topping the batting averages in both 1998 and 1999. A
closer-run battle in 2000
still saw Tim come out on top. In fact he is one of a select band that includes Jason Stephens and Jason
Walliker in having scored that elusive century for the club. Our secret
weapon with the ball, Tim bowls a deadly roll-over flipping daisy-bouncer which actually
turns a long way, along with our heads as we follow the ball for another four (only
joking). Seriously, as the art of spin and most certainly leg-spin is a rare commodity in
our game (especially at our level) its refreshing to see it bowled at all and can fool the
batsman into the rash shot when all else may have failed.
Tim took over the Captaincy from Jay Stephens,
whose Captaincy culminated in the extraordinarily successful 1997. Tim subsequently led us in
66 fixtures, winning 29, losing 31 and drawing the remaining 6. His inaugural year 1998 was his best with well over
twice as many wins as losses during which time his batting went from strength to strength,
winning the Hull Batting Trophy each year he was Captain. Tim's Vice-Captain Matt Balkwill (pictured left) takes over as Captain for 2001. took over the Captaincy from Jay Stephens,

Tim's
talents including playing Casanova and although the younger generation (especially Craig) is snapping at his heels Tim shows 'em who
is the master. Even the girls fall for it as well. It had been said many times that he is
a little bit special. As he was the Captain at the time we felt inclined to agree with
him. The still is from his impromptu introduction for the '97 tour video. Don't ask him
about who pinched his car on tour in '99. Nobody knows, especially Dazza,
"it wasn't him, Guv, I weren't dere" and all that. Oh yeah. It wasn't
Dave Hurren either, who sadly knew no better place
to park the car (whoops-Ed).
PS
If you were wondering what the "Hardware" connection for the anagrams this time
around was, it's perfectly clean.
Oh yes it is.
