31/04: Away v. RYDE, (40 overs) |
Having lost the previous game to the rather wetter than usual conditions, we strove to
ensure the last two games went ahead. Thus, as Ryde's own ground was going to be
unplayable we ironically booked Godshill's ground which was drying out nicely. The home
team put out a stronger side than we could muster and it showed, their score gathering
pace as the overs went by. Interestingly enough for a game where each bowler is limited to
a maximum of eight overs, Tim bowled nine. |
Dan Eldridge entered legendary status in this match for the marvellous way he dealt with
one particular delivery. Having got more or less "in", he decided not to play at
the ball now approaching him. Standing a little back from the line Dan watched intently, his
head turning with the ball but stopping merely momentarily as the ball removed the bails.
Pure class. And it's on video. |
